LKB Holiday Party

Traditionally, Christmas is a very special time of year for us at LKB. Sure, holiday decor, colorful lights, songs about Santa Claus, and, of course, the Rankin/Bass TV classics of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman bring back childhood memories but, more importantly, this time of year has always been about family, the joy of giving, and wishing good tidings to loved ones. And shhh...someone we all know and love was born on December 25th--and I don't mean Jesus--so that makes the day even more special. :)

To continue tradition with our extended community family, let's get together to bring out that holiday spirit and share in some traditional holiday activities.

Disclaimer: Our intent is to theme towards traditional, non-denominational decor and activities so as to not offend or exclude folks with differing views and beliefs. However, it could be argued that most of the seasonal parties and get togethers stem from some denominational tradition whether it be Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanza, or even the Winter Solstice. Regardless of your traditions and beliefs, there's no escaping the commercialism and displays of these traditional or religious symbols scattered throughout our Western culture this time of year. Rather than attempt to cater and be inclusive to everyone, our position is rather to exclude as many (obvious) religious-based decorations around the shop for this event. However, folklore associates Santa Claus as an alias for Christian-based Saint Nicholas and even Christmas trees originated from the pagan Yule festival so, bottom line, we all have to accept these traditions in Western society and not be so intolerant to take offense. Plus, many of us know and grew up with the tale of Santa Claus and his gift-bringing exploits for good girls and boys. There's a lot of nostalgia and regressive memories associated with the holiday season, so we want to help bring back some of that magic of feeling like a kid again--even if just for a few hours.

TLDR: This is just a long-winded way of saying if you find holiday decorations and traditional (with some religious undertones) holiday characters and themes offensive, do not attend this event. So...with that out of the way, let's get to the deets.
